The discovery tour quiz starts at the parking place on the Boulevard Betous opposite the post office. This is indicated on the map above by the little green dot (GPS coordinates: lat=43.98140, lon=0.49915). Follow the orange route on the map and solve the clues at each stop on the way.

Start the tour at the green dot on the above map. Here you will find an old stone bench.

Sit on the bench and do the following:

According to the legend, this is the statue of a young girl that loved cats so much that she secretly hid them when the villagers of La Romieu were forced to start eating cats because of the terrible famine in the cold winter of 1342. But the year after, when there was a plague of rats, this little girl's cats ate the rats and thus saved the harvest. According to the legend, every year the girl's face looks more and more like that of a cat.
