Cycling tour 'Bastides in the Gers' - 43km
Recreational Cycling in Gascony, France

Description of the cycling tour 'Bastides in the Gers'
This recreational cycling route 'Bastides in the Gers' takes you through some of the most beautiful bastides in Gascony. The cycling tour starts at the campsite with a first stop in the village of Gondrin. The route continues over small country roads to Lagraulet-du-Gers, a tiny little village with the original authentic charm of Gascony.
Then you will follow rolling country roads right through the vineyards of the Armagnac and bright yellow sunflower fields towards Lauraët, Larroque-sur-l'Osse and Fources. The village of Fources is a magnificent round medieval bastide, ideal for a short stop to look around in the village and maybe eat or drink some local specialties on the terrace at the village square.
The route continues to Montréal-du-Gers, the oldest bastide of the Gers. The village is also worth a short stop to look around and taste the spirit of long gone times.
Then it is back to the campsite. Along the way you will pass a cheese farm where a Dutch couple make delicious goat cheese. After that you will cross the main road D931 between Eauze and Condom where you will stay on the smaller country roads. The last part of this cycling route is uphill for about 2km. Surely the most chalenging part or the route, but on beatiful days you will have a magnificent view of the Pyrenees.
After that little challenge it is just a short way back to the campsite where the cycling tour ends after 43km.
