Although the Gers
is hardly known by tourists, this region in the South-West of
France features many great ancient castles, cloisters, abbeys
and cathedrals open to tourists. Did you know that there are over
500 castles in the Gers (Gascony)? Some of these great historic
tourist attractions are situated not far from Camping La Brouquere
and are therefore easily accessible by bike and thus ideal for
sightseeing and daytrips.

| Chateau de Cassaigne |
The
historic Château de Cassaigne built in 1247 is open to the
public and one of the top tourist attractions in the Gers
in France. Join a guided tour and taste the own castle's wine
and armagnac. The small shop has many regional specialties
for sale. The castle is located just 10km from the camping.
An excellent opportunity to take the bike!

| Abbaye de Flaran |
Visit
the spectacular 'Abbaye de Flaran' constructed in the 12th
century. This magnificent tourist attraction is one of the
best preserved abbeys in the entire South-West of France.
This impressive abbey is situated near Valence-sur-Baise just
some 14km from camping La Brouquere.

| Chateau du Busca-Maniban |
The
Château du Busca-Maniban is another of the many castles in
the Gers (Gascony) in France and located just some 10km from
Camping La Brouquere. A great idea for a historical discovery
excursion. Some understanding of the French language is however
recommended. Armagnac tasting is included!

| Cathedral in Eauze |
Eauze has many interesting touristic sights such as a magnificent cathedral, an archeology museum and more.

| Chateau Lavardens |
Chateau
Lavardens is an impressive castle from the 12th century. It
features beautiful mosaic floors, a 'whisper' room and there
are interesting exhibitions in this castle.

| Chateau Monluc in Saint-Puy |
The
castle of Monluc in Saint-Puy is probably best known for its
'Pousse-Rapière', a special liquor on the basis of
Armagnac. You can do a tour through the castle including tasting
of the Pousse-Rapiere and other products from the castle.
